Good Mews offers an alternative to traditional animal shelters in the Metro-Atlanta area by providing a no-kill, cage-free haven for homeless, abused, or abandoned cats until placing them in permanent, loving homes. Good Mews promotes public awareness regarding the value of pets, animal welfare, pet overpopulation, and quality human-animal companionship through education and outreach programs. Good Mews is one of the few virtually cage-free, no-kill cat shelters in the state of Georgia. Since 1988, Good Mews has placed over 6,800 cats in permanent homes.

This is a conceptual design for a Salon in Marietta, Georgia. The existing building is from the 1950’s and is in bad shape, however we had the main structure evaluated by a structural engineer. The walls, floor system and foundation are in good condition and the owner can save money by reusing them.
Another issue is the current building encroaches over existing setbacks. Demolishing the building and reconstructing it within current zoning regulations would reduce the square footage to a point where any project would not be viable. By using the existing building shell, we can reuse the existing shell, but are not enabled to add any additional space.
By maximizing what is existing we are able to convert this old wreck of a building into a pleasing structure.
The backyard for this project was a magnificent wooded area and included an existing patio that was a simple slab with 24″ high brick knee-walls and 30″ pilasters. A uniquely designed sun room was required to add ambiance and fit in with both the environment and existing house.
The result was a 2-tiered roof with a custom beam running the entire length of the patio and a vertical clear transom above. The bronze anodized aluminum frame was custom built on site.
The Quick Burger project is the remarkable transformation of a road side burger stand to a 50’s style diner. The existing building does not include any indoor dining in a 50+ year old building. Continue reading Quick Burger – Jasper, Georgia
